Memorial Day Weekend

A run down of last weekend.
FRIDAY after Nikholi was released from school we went to see
night at the museum 2 Pictures, Images and Photos
I think I received more of a History lesson than anything. Who knew that the first woman to fly a plan could be so intriguing and open so many doors for furture generations.

Then we went to a small carnival near the house. Let me tell you, I wish I had my camera for Kambri and Nikholi's first ride on a faris wheel. Nikholi was holding on tight and Kambri's eyes looked like they were going to fall out they were so big!

On SATURDAY we went to see the Blue Angels fly at the Paxtuxent River Air Show. I've always been a huge fan of the Blue Angels ever since my first air show when I was about Nikholi's age. I caught some pretty good pictures, check these out:

The other two solo fliers were flying around creeping up on the audience with their sonic sound. This next one is my favorite picture. And of course, what more would complete my day other than the kids fighting over me.

SUNDAY after church we went to Sean's Birthday Party. For those of you who don't know Sean, he one of my husbands' brothers' son, 1 of 6. We bought him a skate board and a book for his birthday. After he opened the skateboard, it took some convincing to get him back to the rest of the presents.

Nikholi playing basketball with Sean, closing in for a SLAM DUNK!!!!! And the CrOwD GoEs WiLd!

This is the cutest picture of Sara. Sara is one of Rogers' Sisters' daughter.

This is a picture of only half the kids that attended, and Kambri was the first into the jeep! She said, forget shotgun, I want to drive!

Nancy, Roger's Aunt, brought her dog, and the dog loved Nikholi so much he was determined to mate with him. Poor Nikholi couldn't get away from him.

And little miss Kambri standing up all by herself!

Make A Wish! Happy Birthday Sean!

After his party I also received my Patriarchal Blessing at church. It was a very enlightening experience, I'm so glad I was able to finally receive it.

MONDAY we went to a Ward Picnic at the Park for Memorial Day.
MY LITTLE MONKEY.

When we arrived I could hardly keep Nikholi still long enough to take a picture.

Kambri wanted to play on the playground too!

She also loved the swings!
They were also giving horseback rides to the kids.

Nikholi was soo excited, he loved his ride!

Afterward everyone gathered around for a picture. This picture below doesn't even represent a quarter of the people that were there!

It was a huge success and everyone had a blast!

Roger in New Mexico

Roger spent his Memorial Day weekend relaxing at the hotel, spending time on the town, and visiting an awesome cave. Carlsbad Caverns located in the Guadalupe Mountains in New Mexico.

He said it looked like a dark hole in the ground.

Carlsbad Cavern holds the record of the second largest cave chamber in the world. The next picture is of the whale's mouth. Roger says when you're up close to it, you can more acurately see the resemblance.

They had lights along the pathway, otherwise without them you couldn't see your own hand in front of your face.

It was approximately 80 stories down, with a three mile walk, and an elevator ride to the top.

On their way back they stopped up on a mountain, that they had to drive across, to take a picture of this little stream in a cow pasture.

Up in the moutains it rained on and off, they took this picture on their way home of the weather and scenery out there.

We are crossing our fingers that he will be home Saturday night.

You are Now Free to Move About the Blog

I hate chosing titles for my blogs! Maybe if they weren't so random and didn't contain so many different subjects, choosing a blog title might be a little easier.

First up, and Update on Roger: Roger was suppose to be home this Saturday, but things have been delayed. The last flight is scheduled for the 29th and if all goes well, the plane will leave on the 30th of May; and he will hopefully returned that Saturday or Sunday. However, if the flight does not go as planned then his return could be pushed into the beginning of June. (Please pray that this won't happen!)

Next on the agenda is my personal improvements and my pursuit towards excellence. This past Sunday in church we discussed SERVICE and how we can improve ourselves by serving others. Well I put that to the test this week and bought a birthday present and card, baked a cake, and went down to Roger's sister's, Kathy's house, to celebrate her son's, Gregory's Birthday. (Wow, that was a mouthful!)

I made the white cake from sctratch with sprinkles, vanilla frosting, and livesaver candies. He was so surprised to see the cake and the present on the table. I was really glad I was able to share his birthday with him, I just wish I could have done more.
MAKE A WISH!

Everyone loved the cake and I have to admit, it did taste AWESOME!
Time for a present!

I couldn't get enough of his expression. I'm so glad I caught it on camera. His eyes really lit up and he looked really excited!

We stayed a little while longer, visiting with family.

And here is a picture of Kambri and Todd. I love these pictures because you can see so many resemblances; it must come from the Penn side. And if I'm the only one seeing it, then maybe it's just Kambri's ability to adapt to the person holding her. *Check out the shapes of their mouths* :)

Tonight I'm taking Kambri and Nikholi to go see Night in the Museum then to a carnival up the street from us. Then tomorrow Nikholi has a baseball game; we are going to watch the Blue Angels at the 2009 Pax River Air Show; then Kesi's Intermediate Obedience Training. I'll be sure to take my camera so that I can take lots of pictures to be posted on here by next week. I hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend!

A Quick Update

Kami at Nikholi's T-Ball game on Saturday.

Ready-Set-Play Ball!

Kambri made a new friend.

This is Abby, she turns one year old tomorrow.

Happy First Birthday Abby!

As far as the work in my yard goes, I'm extremely proud of myself, so don't think I'm crazy when I show you the next dozens of pictures.
This is the only surviving Bearded Lily I have in my front yard. Isn't it beautiful!
I wish I would have taken before and after pictures. If I had this picture would do our side yard more justice. *Now I need to convince Roger that the kids need a swing set over there!*

I've been determined to clear some of these leaves back so that we can have a little bit more of a yard so that the kids can play. Look at the entire section I cleared out!

And I have a huge blister because of it!

Sorry, the photo is black and white, I didn't realize it until after I took the picture.
In attempt to clear the yard, my next door neighbor, Bobbi and I found quiet a 'hidden' garden in my front yard. Check out this rose bush! We had to cut back several other vines, weeds and plants in order to get to it!

And lastly, you're probably going to laugh, but after discovering the beautiful garden; which also contained several other plants and four lilies, I was sure to find some more curious plants.

At this point, both my neighbors, Bobbi, Kelley and I are trying to determine exactly what type of plant this was. After conducting thorough research on the Internet in our own homes we determined, 'this is not a pot plant'. However, with the history that precedes our rented abode, it wouldn't surprise me or any of my neighbors.

Trying to Keep Up

I've had difficulties keeping up with the blog with everything going on around here, but I have a free moment, so I figured I'd better update everyone with the crazy happenings around here:

Roger is currently in New Mexico on business, he's been gone since April 22. He was suppose to return home in one week and one day (yes, I was counting down); but now we are unsure when he will turn home. We are hoping sometime around the end of the month. The kids really miss him and I'm having difficulites living without him and his help. :)

Nikholi is still playing T-Ball, we've had fun taking the family (Kami, Kesi, and myself) to all of his practices and games.

Nikholi LOVES playing catcher, it's his favorite position.

He has quiet a swing on him as well, especially for a four year old (when he does hit it that is).

Kami and I enjoy the moments together while Nikholi is practicing or on the field. Here are a couple pictures that make you want to say, aww.

Grandma Judi gave Kami this teddy bear when she was in mommy's tummy, as a little good luck gift; hoping for a girl. She loves give it kisses and hugs.

She also loves standing at the fence watching her brother.

Kami wearing Nikholi's helmet.

When we are home, I have my hands full with school, cleaning the house, yard work, gardening, and keeping up with the kids. Here is a pictures of me attempting to do school, train the dog, talk to Roger, and tell Nikholi to stop playing with the camera.

Since Roger's been gone, I've also been doing some extra yard work. Unfortunately, even if I spent an hour every day out there for a year, the yard work still wouldn't be completed. Since we have so many trees, raking the leaves are endless. Here are some pictures of our yard:

Now you can see why my yard work is endless; although with all the green leaves spring has brought, it sure is beautiful.
I have also added a couple plants around the house and I'm attempting to have a green thumb. Here is a picture of our front porch and garden.

(mind you, this is my first year attempting to garden)

While I'm busy keeping up with other things, I've been creating things to occupying the kids so they don't destroy the house.
I purchased some educational computer software for Nikholi over ebay.

Sit Kambrya down with a popsicle.

Make Nikholi an 'electrifying' guitar.

AND IF I DON'T KEEP THEM BOTH OCCUPIED, THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS:

The LAUNDRY MONSTER comes out to greet us!

Today I have a yard to mow and a house to clean. Now you can see why I've been so busy; but it really because SUPER MOM

(That's ME)
Is "TRYING TO KEEP UP" with these

LITTE RASCALS!
