With Romney running for president, many political attacks have been made the religion he is affiliated with. I have to say that I am appalled that so many people are asking former members and other religions about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, rather than asking active members.
News Media's 4 Minute Segment on the Mormon Church
One particular aspect that has been targeted recently is women’s rights and the relation they have in the LDS religion. When news anchors were speaking to a distant relative of Brigham Young, a well-known prophet of the church from the 1800's, she expressed that she was a member, but no longer affiliates herself with the religion due to the lack of women's roles in leadership. I just have to say that being an active member, I am here to tell you that women have plenty of leadership callings in our church, Relief Society, Young Women's and Primary Presidencies. I was appalled by her accusations based soley upon her poor experiences with individuals within the religion, rather than the religion itself. A scripture that reminds me of what many former members refuse to take to heart is D&C 1:30: "...with which I, the Lord, am well pleased, speaking unto the church collectively and not individually-"
If any of you have questions about this faith, ask a real life Mormon, they will give you the truth about their religion..If you needed heart surgery, would you let a foot doctor perform it? Same principle with who you talk to about their religion.. Ask them, not another faith! I am happy to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints, and yes I am a Mormon, if you have any questions about it, please feel free to ask me!

Surviving this Economy
After our big move into our first house, my previous organization and family management has been purely in SHAMS. Worst part of all, our budget has taken the largest nose dive I have EVER seen in our relationship. We've scraping nickels and dimes out of couch cushions just to have gas for the hubs to get back and forth to work. I'm sure this is no different than what many of you have experienced in this downward spiral of an economy.
I have to say that I'm BLOWN away by finances!
When the hubs and I first met we had over $8K in the bank account, no credit card debt, and two vehicles (one which had approx. $18K yet to pay off). Now, we're paycheck to paycheck, with one major credit card that's nearly maxed out, two vehicles WITH car payments still equallying approx. $18K until pay off, and NOW the cost of a new house. After receiving our second mortgage payment, we were both hit with a harsh reality... only $200 of our payment went towards the house, where the rest was taken by the interest. *GASPS* The only good thing about it all is that instead of wasting $1000 per month to rent, we're finally putting it towards something that will eventually be paid off, towards something that will eventually be OURS.
While trying to get back on track my goals for this week are to: (btw: the beginning and end of my 'weeks' are the typical Monday through Friday, but rather revolve around the hubs schedule)
- Create a meal plan for the next four weeks, then make a grocery list revolving around ONLY the items I need; hoping to eliminate compulsive grocery shopping.
- Start clipping MORE coupons, organizing my coupon binder, and searching websites for the best deals. Don't forget PRICE MATCHING!
- Search Pinterest for HomeMade recipes... Going back to basics. Homemade laundry detergent, homemade dish detergent, homemade cleaners, etc.
What are some other money saving techniques you use in your home to save money?

Picking up with the Here and Now
Unfortunately, this isn't a post catching up with the past eight months I've been MIA, but rather a quick blurb to pick up on the here and now. I finally had my camera fixed, so hopefully that will motivate and inspire me to blog more.
Looking for Mommy Advice
Not quite sure what has been going on with my youngest lately, but I'm fed up. He's been antagonizing his older siblings by running up and randomly hitting, punching, or kicking them, then runs away laughing about it. I've been setting him on time-out for it, but it doesn't seem to be working because as soon as he's up from time-out, he does it again. And to top it all off, he's a typical two year old that is into EVERYTHING, I can't sit down for without him finding something else to completely destroy. I do a lot of time-in, arts and crafts with the kids, read stories, and take them to play dates, as well as doing the best I can to give them each the individual attention they deserve. However, I'm at a loss, with four weeks left until my due date, how do I keep up? How do I manage this erratic behavior of my youngest?
