Still Adapting (surviving) the Joys of Motherhood

Lttl1 still hasn't quiet mastered the difference between day and night. He seems to enjoy more deep quality snoozes during the day, leaving his momma to suffer at night. Begging for another hour, to quickly drift back to sleep, before he wakes demanding more milk. Last night was absolutely horrid, wakin' his momma every 30 minutes to an hour. It wouldn't have been so bad if I would have been able to sleep in...

6:30 rolls around and my oldest is asking to play the Wii, my princess saying "eat, Eat, EAT!" She obviously knew it was breakfast time. As I sluggishly make it back to feed Lttl1 I notice the my excruciating pain is getting worse. I quickly phone my doctor before I fall asleep from pure exhaustion and the receptionist informs me that she has an appointment in an hour..

I quickly scramble to get the kids ready, grabbing paperwork and other items needed since I'm gonna be in an area that I'm not normally in. My oldest bursts out into tears because after I told him he could bring his DS, he realized there was no game in it; so I hear occasional tiffi's coming from the back seat. On our way to the office, I took a wrong turn (still getting used to this beautiful country area we've moved into).. So I pray TomTom will get us there, WITHOUT getting us even more lost (which it also does occasionally). We finally made it! Whew!

As we're exiting the vehicle my 2 year old daughter notices a zippy with GoldFish.. I figure no problem and let her carry them.. Until we get to the elevator where there is a sign that reads: "Absolutely No FOOD, DRINKS, or CELL PHONES." Trying to do the right thing, WHICH DEFINITELY DOESN'T PLEASE EVERYONE...I traded her a pen and paper for GoldFish.. You should have seen the look she gave me, it was "Yeah right Mom, now give me back my Fishy's!" Once she realizes she wasn't getting them back, the elevator doors open, which open directly into the waiting room, where our princess releases a ToE cUrLiNg SCREAM!!

"I'm AWAKE now," I reply. The section of the story could go on, but I just have to say a Waiting Room with three screaming kids is a nightmare, but a patients room with three screaming kids is TORCHER!! 15 minutes after being confined with my kiddos in a room that keeps getting smaller, the doctor finally confirms that I have an infection and writes a script for an antibiotic (which he nonchalantly took his time to do). He leaves the room and I VERY QUICKLY rushed out of the office building.

We get in the van and I pass the kiddos back some Gold Fish. Finally something to quiet their rambling little mouths. We drive over to the bank, where I was soo thankful that they had a drive thru teller... UNTIL the banker attempted to argue with me that I wasn't on the account in which I was trying to deposit money. After five minutes of arguing, she finally had her manager take a look, where they determined that my name was on the next page of the computer screen. *rolls eyes*

NEXT we drove to my oldest sons new school, where attempted to register him for kindergarten. I just have to say, it's a beautiful school... the office had these really nice leather couches, an elaborate coffee table, and a massive decorative vase of silk flowers. So as I'm sorting through the necessary paperwork, the oldest takes a FLYING LEAP onto the couch and starts jumping on it as if he were at home.. I quickly demand that he gets down.. then his sister starts chasing him around the coffee table. Still trying to get the necessary paperwork, I tell the oldest to sit on the floor and for his sister to hang on to Lttl1's car seat. .. Well needless to say, I was COMPLETELY IGNORED! So I began taking things away, "You're gonna lose the Wii..." Ruckus continues, "Okay, you've lost the Wii" next it's the DS, then the TV, then playing in the backyard...... It truly is AMAZING how quickly the kids can loose ALL of their things by SIMPLY not listening!

After we left the school building, we all sat quietly in the van for 10 minutes while Momma caught her BREATH and captured her COOL. Then off to the pharmacy to drop off my prescription.. then a 30 minute drive down to our Realtors office to drop off our rent check.. back to the pharmacy to pick up my prescription..then we hit the gas station, the post office (where luckily I didn't have to wait in line long), the dry cleaners to drop off daddy's suit so we can have it ready for some upcoming interviews, and then the grocery store.

I'm sure you could only imagine how the kids were at those remaining places.. Oh and while at the dry cleaners my oldest son said to a little boy in the back, "What!? You don't want to play with me!?" He sounded like a BIG BULLY, the tone in his voice definitely took me for surprise.. And if he was a bit older I would have knocked him from here to kingdom come!

And if you happened to see us at any of these places... Yes folks, we were THAT family today. These are the types of days that make me swear that I will never leave the house with my three kids again...EVER!

I love my life. And I'm not kidding. :) Yesterday was really fabulous and I was filled with love for those kiddos of mine. So I'll take the crazy times any day!

He's FINALLY Here!

We'll he finally made his debut at 5:01pm on July 9th.
Insurance was taken care of and I was ready to get him out of my increasingly growing belly. If he would have come around 37 weeks (when the doctor was approximating, especially after the false labor) I wouldn't have had any stretch marks. I guess he figured he needed to brand me too. After being dilated at 2-3 centimeters for approximately five weeks, we were finally able to schedule an induction for the day after my mom arrived into town.
We picked mom up from the airport around 11:30pm, enjoyed talking over a two hour ride home, grabbed a couple hours of shut eye, then ran up to the hospital at 7:00am. The pitocin to start the contractions was administered around 8:30am, but I didn't start feeling the contractions until about 10am. While my mom and my loving husband were waiting for our littlest one to join us:
my husband kept our spirits alive by making us laugh

but I guess the moving help keep him warm, they claimed the room was below freezing temperatures...

Mom ran down to the cafeteria to grab a bite to eat around noon..and I began to frantically text her to return to the room because the contractions were becoming harder.

I tried different positions to manage the contractions; all fours was quiet comfortable, but then the nurses weren't able to pick up the baby's heart beat. So they ended up hooking a device to his scalp while still in utero to monitor his heart beat, which still allowed me to use the birthing ball (which I swore by with Kambri's birth).

It was soo nice to have my mom and my husband there for support. Roger actually was able to take away some of the physical pain I was feeling, while mom comforted my emotional needs.

Around 4:30pm the pain began to increase significantly and I felt defeated; wanting a natural child birth, but asking for an epidural. The nurses gave me some fluids through my IV and the doctor began to watch the monitor. They began discussing the possibility of a C-Section.. (the last thing I wanted) According to Roger, the baby's heart beat droped down to 30 beats per minute, causing alarm between the doctor and nurses present. I was just begging them to knock me out... to give me general anestisea because I was soo afraid of what was to come next and I was running out of energy to cope with the contractions I was having...
Before anyone could do anything or set anything up to prepare for a surgery, tears were coming to my eyes because of a sudden urge to push. The doctor checked me and I was complete.
.... ONE PUSH...

and out came our Little One.
