So since I haven't been blogging lately, because honestly there is just too much to blog about, I'm going to give you a brief synopsis of how our family has been doing with pictures and captions. I think another truly discouraging factor would be because Nikholi got a hold of my camera and erased over 230 pictures, including a video of Kami crawling for the first time. With all distractions and discouragement aside, here is an update on our life:
Daddy offered Kami her first purple popscicle.
It's cold, but just so tasty.
Every morning we drive Nikholi to school, which is about 30 minutes away. My favorite part about our mornings together is when Kami truns around and smiles at me. I have to admit, Nikholi typically isn't the happy one in the morning.
Roger and I have been begging Nikholi to cut his hair. When his hair gets long like this, he actually gets a weird complextion that he really is a girl and refuses to get in baths. So one day he finally came out and said, "Mom, I want a haircut." Roger and I both rushed for the clippers, hoping he wouldn't change his mind before we got to them. Here are some before, during, and after shots:
Roger and I alternated cutting his hair. Nikholi only wanted ME to do it, so we were trying to be sneeky about it because Dad is really the barber of the family. From cutting other soldiers hair in Iraq, he's become really good at the high tops and fades. Of course since I started out with a smaller guard, Roger wasn't able to give Nikholi a fade.
He looks so much older with his hair cut. It's hard to believe that he is going to be four next month! And now I don't have to comb it before he goes to church or school. Yippee!
You'll probably look at this next picture and wonder what the heck it is, but to give you a heads up it my foot!
Kesi, our lovely dog, went outside to go to the bathroom, and since we don't have a fence around our yard she is still learning boundries. She ran across the street to the neighbor kids and was jumping on their little beagle, so I rushed over there as fast as I could through our dreadful forest and had to carry her back. On my way back I stepped on something in the dreadful forest, barely cutting my foot. Yes, it hurt, but I figured it wasn't anything to be concerned about. I washed it off and continued on with my day. Well the next day I had red streaks running through my foot and to my ankel. I called Grandma for her expert advice and she told me that it sounded like blood poisoning. Then I called my dad who call my brother, who works in the medical field and he suggested the same thing. So I went to the doctor and the doctor said the infection had spread, but it was doing a lot better than the day before. And I ended up getting a tentues shot. That dang thing hurt worse than my foot and made my arm look like I got slammed by a baseball. I felt the doctor was sending this message, "You want something to cry about, I'll give you something to cry about." lol, because I cried about that dang shot ALL WEEK!
So a word to the wise, if you step on something immediately dowse it in peroxide and soak it in epsons salts, no matter how big or little the cut is!
I'm not sure if I ever showed pictures of Kami's room, but I am almost finished with it. When we moved in the walls were already painted these horrid colors. If I had my way the walls would have been painted a soft cream to coordinate with her beding and furniture.
So to calm the colors down a little I added some decals and a temple picture. I really liked how the temple picture really brought serenity into the room, even with all the loud colors. I'm still working on some drapes and a quilt to match.
Tell me what you think.
Lastly, for this blog, I know some of you have been dying to see pictures of my house. I feel like my house is so small compared to everyone back in Arizona, but you have to imagine the difference between housing prices. You could buy a 5 bedroom/ 3 bathroom with a three car garage for $200,000, but here you would only be able to buy a 2 bedroom/ 1 bathroom with a carport for that; renting is the same. Roger and I both almost fell to the floor when we saw 3 bedroom homes for only $600 per month. For the average price for the around here, try tripling $600!
This is our front door and our family room.
Here you can see a little bit of our kitchen, but mainly the breakfest bar. To the right is our dinning room, the arcadia door to our back porch, the kitchen, then to the right you can kind of see down the hall.
This is our front room, which I have created into our office. It has taken me a long time to get it to look like this! But it's very relaxing, and I definetely am able to call it home.
In this last picture you can kind of see the dinning room the the right.
I'm interested in your comments, even if you're not a blogger, you should still be able to leave a comment. I hope everyone is having an exciting week. I'll try to have more posted by the end of this week, especially more of Kami's milestones: she is now crawling, standing up, cruising (walking along furniture), and recieve her first tooth a couple days ago. More crazy happenings and pictures coming soon.

I actaully kind of like Kami's room! With the pink flowers it totally works. Wow, I know you said your foot didn't hurt, but it looks like a doo-sie! I'm glad Nik allowed you to cut his hair, I'm not a fan of boys having long hair (though, to tell you the truth, if Brady's hair is as curly as Alenna's I might grow it out a bit, just becuase the curls are too good to waste! lol) The house looks great! Though I still think you should move home! lol!
Love ya!
her room is adorable! and i actually really like the wall colors - they are so fun! i want to paint my laundry room that aqua blue color! i loved seeing the pictures of your house too, and i'm so glad that you are okay - blood poisoning doesnt exactly sound very nice.
