Despite Nikholi still absolutely hating the spiderman quilt that I made him, he is still determined to become spiderman.
I have decided to breastfeed Kambrya because of all the studies that I've read about the many benefits; (from my readings) this can drastically improve immune system and their intellect until the age of 13. So because of this choice that I have made, I'm constantly glued to either my bed or the glider in her room for feeding times; which makes it harder to keep a close eye on Nikholi.
As I was feeding Kami, all of a sudden I heard a huge C R A S H!!! I distrupt Kami's feeding time, running into Nikholi's room to see what had happened. Much to my amazement his Sponge Bob curtains in his room were dangling on the floor with the VERY bent curtain rod. Extremely angry, I still used a rational approach and firmly asked Nikholi, "WHAT THE HECK WERE YOU THINKING?" He studdered slightly and said, "But, but, Mom, I was trying to be Spiderman!" At this time I'm about ready to burst into tears because I'm trying to refrain from laughing. As I tried to explain to him that little boys can't be action figures he quietly said (with a small studder), "But, but, I wanted to fly across my room." At this point, I don't know what to say, or even how to discipline him. So I further explain the flying is for tv and we don't live in the tv.
I bent the rod back into shape the best I could and attempted to rehang the curtains. After I completed Kami's feeding, we went back into his room and played with his toys (while also cleaning up) for about an hour. Then made chocolate chip cookies for daddy's birthday.
I never thought I would experience all those funny stories that my parents tell about my brothers growing up, jumping off dressers wanting to become Superman.. But I guess this is where the fun starts.
P.S. Luckily he wasn't hurt and we did not have to make a trip to the hospital.
