I haven't blogged in a while because I've just recently become insainly busy. I'm going to have to do multiple posts at a time in order to catch up on what I've been doing over the past month.. But something that motivated me to blog is a situation that Rattled My Button!
I received a phone call this morning at 8:19am that disturbed my blissful dream! It was a solicitor asking for an Arabic name (don't even ask me to pronounce it). I told them that they have the wrong number, but they continued to sell me their product anyways. I asked them to take me off their calling list and hung up the phone.
So at this point, I'm up. I get dressed, get the kids breakfast and talk to my next door neighbor/BF, Kelley, and they call again! This time it's 9:21am. They ask for the same Arabic name and I told them no one by that name lives here and I get the same spill about some promotion. Again, "Please take me off your calling list." and Hung up the Phone.
Then I sat down to review some homework and completed some participation points, when I received yet ANOTHER call from them.. By the way, it had been barely thirty minutes, receiving the phone call at 9:47am. This time when I picked up the phone saying hello.. no one responded and the other end of the line sounded blank.
Pretty irritated at this point I call the number back (973) 813-7735 and I get this automated voice system. Press one to speak with a customer service representative; press two to place your number on our do not call list. With out hesitation I quickly push the number and hang up the phone.
I'm preparing my papers and gathering information that I need to address at our Presidency Meeting *I was called to be the Second Counselor of the Relief Society, but I'll explain all that in another post* and at 10:31am I receive ANOTHER phone call. I answer the phone extremely peeved... HELLO... HELLO....HELLO....HELLO???? Again, no one was responding and the other end was blank.
Still furious, I call the number back yet again (973) 813-7735. Press one to speak with a customer service representative; press two to place your number on our do not call list; press three to end this call. At this point, I want to talk to a dang CSR, I want my problem solved! "All Agents are busy at the moment, please hang up and try your call again later!" GRRRRR
11:02am, running late for my Presidency Meeting, chaning Kambri's diaper, they call again. This time someone actually answered and started their pitch without hesitation and without asking for the person with the Arabic name! I said, "Before you go any further, I need to speak with your manager!" She said, "What ever for?" I told her about the numerous phone calls and then she finally agreed, "please hold." As she returned to the line, "he's on the phone with another customer, I can put you on our do not call list." I said, "No, I'll wait for the manager." She seemed stumped. He finally answered the phone and asked me what the problem was. I was very upfront and borderline rude, but I said, "I understand how call centers work, and that my number may be dailed by a computer automated system, but I have been called at 8:19am, 9:21am, 9:47am, 10:31am, and 11:02am, if I receive another call from your company I will be filing harrassment charges. This is absolutely rediculous!" He said I will be sure to put you on our do not call list. I asked him please do, that's all I've been asking for all morning!
So needless to say, luckily, I have not received another phone call from them. I was a solicitor before a Dial America and it's not an easy job, especially when you are paid on commission. Leaving me to have some compassion and understanding for the sales persons work, but 5 times in less than a three hour time frame, that's a little excessive don't you think?
