Afterwards, we went to the MOMS Club Meet & Greet where the kids played and watched Finding Nemo while a Lifeguard from our local YMCA spoke about water safety. There were a lot of interesting statistics and an emotional story shared. One of my favorite water safety tips that I have learned from the Lifeguards at the YMCA is that when ever your child wants to enter a pool of water, have him or her shout an uncommon word, then have him or her wait to enter the water until the uncommon word is repeated back to them. For example, the child shouts, "BUNGALOO!" In order for the child to enter the water, the parent must shout "BUNGALOO" back.
We headed out a bit earlier than everyone, only because I didn't want to be out all day! We still had to run up to the beach to pay our rent at the realtor's office. I love driving up to the beach to pay my rent instead of mailing it because the scenery is just soo beautiful, it's so peaceful there, and I always seem to so inspired by nature that I'm able to capture the most amazing photos.
Once I returned home I had a message on my answering machine to call the school. We have had a tough year with Nikholias' behavior, so I kinda figured it wasn't a call to tell me he made the honor roll; which also wouldn't surprise me because he is also the smartest kid in his class [and I'm not just saying that as a mom braggin' about her son]. Well lo and behold, he is suspended from the bus for three days. Apparently, he wasn't sitting in his seat and refusing to listen to the bus driver so the bus driver had to pull the bus over on the side of the freeway; resulting in a referral and his suspension. *sighs* So after we were done at the beach, I had to pick Nikholi up from school. It wouldn't be so bad if the school wasn't so far away, but his school is 9 miles from our house! UGH.. Just more traveling to get to my final destination.
When Roger returned home, we decided to go to his mom's house for dinner. Where we caught up on the latest gossip in the family. Also, since I wanted to take some pictures of the roosters, I ended up getting ATE UP by the mosquitoes. I had no idea they were so bad! I swear I have over 20 bites. And the bad thing is that I swell up in the areas they bite me and can't sleep because all I want to do is scratch. It's horrible!
Today has been an overwhelming, yet interesting day. It started off with everyone getting dressed for Nikholi's last baseball game of the season. Roger took the two little one's to the park, while I snapped pictures of Nikholi's game.
It was soo funny.... I was soo obsessed with getting the perfect picture that I about got hit by an over-thrown ball.
Although I don't believe we are going to sign Nikholi up for baseball again next season, just because he's not showing interest in it like he used to, we did meet some really awesome friends! After the game we had a celebration at a great little Italian restaurant where they handed out pictures, trophies, and cut their names out of the banner.
Later we ventured over to one of our friends house where Roger helped work on some old motorcycles, the kids played, and me and a lovely sister were able to catch up on the latest happenings. When we arrived home we found THIS laying on our front porch!!!
He later took care of the rabbit, but only because I had to dispose of a BABY bunny last week. I was devastated and absolutely heartbroken picking up severed pieces of a baby bunny! Unfortunately we can't keep our cat inside because every time we open the door he bolts outside. We also can't keep him outdoors because when ever we open the door he bolts inside. It's all a lose-lose situation for us.
