Traveling with Kids

I'm preparing for a very long road trip, without my husband, and with me three children and a nephew. I have to tell you, I'm a bit nervous traveling with all these kiddos, so I'm attempting to create things that will keep them occupied while on the road (it's a 12-14 hour road trip).

My first idea is TRAVEL BINGO. I found the idea on FamilyFun.com. There were words written into the spaces and since my oldest is still learning to read and my daughter is only three, I figured I could substitute the words with pictures, and created these:

Print these cards out before your trip and laminate them (I use contact paper - it's seriously like my best friend when it comes to laminating; cheap and easy to use).

Give the kids a dry erase marker so they can cross off the items they see on the road on their bingo card. Once they get five across (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally) shout out: BINGO!

Best thing about laminating these cards and using dry erase markers (I've seen dry erase crayons too) is that you can erase your game board and play again and again, without the hassel of little beans or coins that can be a choking hazard.
