Family Day Sunday

Today has been a pretty fabulous day. Unfortunately, we didn't go to church, which I was kinda bummed about, but at the same time, our family needed time to catch up and rejuvenate.. And that's just what we did. We slept in, cleaned the house as a family [dishes were HORRIBLE], the kids watched a cartoon about Jesus' Miracles here on earth, then we watched Saturday's Warriors as a family.

Roger has been taking the discussions from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints missionaries. It's been really unique to discover how in tune they are with the spirit when they are preparing their lessons. Every time Roger has the discussions, we've always discussed the same topic they are discussing prior to their lesson. For example, today we watched Saturday's Warriors and discussed the pre-existence and the lesson the missionaries taught was on "The Plan of Salvation."

After the missionaries left, I filled up 25 large balloons with WATER and put them on the TRAMPOLINE!
They were soo hard to break. The kids tried laying on them, jumping up and down, and then began throwing them at each other. So I had to get on and see exactly why they weren't popping!
It was pretty funny watching them BOUNCE off of everyone as we were throwing them at each other.. Of course "it's all fun and games until some one gets hurt, then it's hilarious!" Reminded me of when I was kid!
We did end up getting pretty violent with them; especially between me and Nikholi. I began throwing them so hard at him that I was knocking him off his feet. We all couldn't help but laugh because they STILL weren't popping. So DAD [taking pictures] decided to throw a balloon from the outside of the trampoline into the net... and sure enough it SPLATTERED all over Nikholi, drenching him from Head to Toe! Once all the balloons were popped, we were ALL soaked! It seemed like the fun lasted forever!

While we were cleaning up and I finished making dinner, Roger power washed the front porch finally getting the rest of the rabbit guts cleaned up. We all enjoy some slow cooked pulled pork BBQ sandwiches, with baked potatoes, and a salad.
I've been getting pretty creative with dinners, especially since we're on a REALLY TIGHT budget. And I think that I've made more delicious meals since our budget has been restricted and we haven't been able to eat out as much.

Now it's time to do some homework... It's really the last thing I really want to be doing, but if I can get it all done before tomorrow, I can have some more time to play with my kiddos! I hope everyone had a great weekend. I'm looking for the busy festivities the week will bring. :)
