Summer-Time Chaos

Are you ready for the summer? I know I'm not! Things are crazy enough without adding another child, who is typically in school during the day, to tease, pester, and cause contention with their favorite sibling. After critically thinking about how I'm going to prevent/TACKLE this problematic concern for my sanity, I've been doing some research and found somethings that you too may find helpful. I will be starting my very own specialized program call "An activity a day keeps the boredom away." I'll be posting one activity per day on this blog, 5 days out of the week, where you can choose to follow along. Activities will consist of arts & crafts, learning experiences, kids in the kitchen, play dates with friends, field trips, and much more.

Dr. Patricia Quinn, a developmental pediatrician in the Washington D.C. area, explains that "children with ADHD do best with structured routines and when they know what is expected from them. Summertime presents a lot of unstructured time and less supervision. When they have a lot of down time they are more likely to run into trouble." I believe this can be the case for several children, even without the diagnosis of ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). Therefore, my task for today will be not only to complete my required homework for a learning team assignment, but to also create a schedule that my kids can easily follow along, and you can too! I hope everyone has an outstanding summer full of activities and adventures. I'm also hoping that I'll gain more followers. If you like or use any of the activities that I post, please leave a comment below so that I can develop my posts according to popular demand for my lovely followers.

i love that because you write out all the activites for the summer and the children get to pick on the day a random activity.
